UNESCO IESALC Launches the 4th Cohort of the Sustainable University Leadership and Governance Programme

UNESCO IESALC has opened the call for the fourth cohort of its programme on Sustainable University Leadership and Governance: Pathway to the 2030 Agenda, designed to strengthen the leadership capacities of university rectors, presidents, and senior management teams across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The programme supports higher education leaders in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their institutional strategies through strategic reflection, peer learning, and expert mentoring. Previous editions have brought together 101 university leaders from 34 higher education institutions across 11 countries in the region.

Participants will benefit from leadership development on sustainability challenges, access to international good practices, peer exchange opportunities, and the development of an institutional strategic roadmap aligned with the 2030 Agenda.

The programme includes an 8-week virtual phase followed by an in-person regional meeting in Santiago, Chile, on 7–9 October 2026.

Higher education institutions interested in participating are invited to confirm their interest by 14 August 2026.
