INQAAHE contributes to the AfriQAN Quality Assurance Network Conference 2023 in Tanzania

The African Quality Assurance Network (AfriQAN) is a pan-African network that has been set up to help institutions concerned with Quality Assurance in higher education in Africa through capacity building and practice sharing. The network is committed to the enhancement of the quality of African higher education and to collaborating with similar organizations on other continents. To this effect, AfriQAN organises conferences and a fora to exchange knowledge on the role and the potential of quality assurance in advancing excellence in higher education. The forum of 2023 provided opportunities for AfriQAN members, sister networks, and other quality assurance practitioners to share best practices and experiences on key issues related to quality assurance in digital education, research, and doctoral education. It also serve as a truly African, and multi-linguistic space to debate and discuss continental quality assurance practices and experiences. Presenters and participants deliberated on quality assurance topics related to digital education, doctoral education, research, partnerships, and collaboration.

Sylvia Demas, INQAAHE Director and head of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in Namibia and Executive Secretary for the Southern African Quality Assurance Network (SAQAN) used the opportunity at the AfriQAN Forum to publicise the II Global Study. The presentation enhanced the participants’ understanding of the survey and generated discussions on how the study can be better coordinated in the African region.
