Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance (OUCQA) Achieves INQAAHE ISG Alignment

INQAAHE is pleased to announce the successful alignment of the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance (OUCQA), Canada, with the INQAAHE International Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (ISGs), 2025 edition.

Following the completion of its review against the ISGs, the INQAAHE ISG Recognition Committee approved the Review Panel’s recommendation to recognise OUCQA as substantially compliant with the ISGs on 28 September 2026.

The review assessed OUCQA across all 18 ISGs, covering the four key areas of Legitimacy, Mission and Governance; Quality Assurance Framework; Evaluation and Outcomes; and Quality Culture. Among the areas recognised as fully compliant were OUCQA’s mission, governance, organisational structure, resources and capacity, peer-reviewers, external review of agencies, international engagement, and thematic analysis and guidance.

OUCQA’s alignment will be valid for five years. As part of the ISG Alignment process, the agency will also submit a mid-term report 2.5 years after the alignment date, addressing the recommendations and suggestions identified by the Review Panel.

INQAAHE warmly congratulates OUCQA on this important achievement and milestone in strengthening trust and credibility in quality assurance.

OUCQA now joins the community of quality assurance bodies aligned with the INQAAHE ISGs. The full list of ISG-aligned agencies is available on the INQAAHE website through the ISG Review Register.
