Since 2005, the World Bank has been providing grants to assist QA agencies in higher education and doing this through various regional networks of QA agencies. As from 2008, for three years, the World Bank will be providing grants for the same purpose, but channelled through UNESCO to networks of agencies (including INQAAHE) and thence onto the agencies themselves. This scheme is called the Global Initiative for QA Capacity-building (GIQAC). In February of 2008, INQAAHE and four other networks succesfully applied for grants for 2008.
